MRJ Watt scored 114 from 44 balls against Lumbini Lions. It is the highest individual score in the competition's history and, by some distance, the most violent.
The number that matters
A strike rate of 259.09. For context, the league as a whole scores at 9.15 an over during the death — the fastest phase of any innings. Watt batted at roughly seventeen an over, for forty-four balls, in a competition where the average innings runs at 7.43.
Where it sits in the record book
The next-highest score in NPL history is AM Rossington's 108 from 58 against Karnali Yaks. Third is AGS Gous, 104 from 55. Both are outstanding innings. Both took at least eleven more balls to reach a lower score.
Not a flat-track day
This was not a batting festival that everyone joined. The first-innings average across the competition sits at 147.5, and the highest team total ever made — Biratnagar Kings' 220 for 6 against Pokhara Avengers — needed a full twenty overs and six wickets.
Watt made more than half of a record total on his own, in barely seven overs of batting.
What it takes to beat it
Nobody has reached 115. Only three players have passed a hundred at all. On current evidence the record survives another season.
